Inline speed skating is the fastest growing discipline in competitive roller skating.
This activity provides an opportunity for athletes to excel in a sport which is both physically and mentally demanding.
Inline speed skaters from the United States most often
race indoors on a 100 meter flat track and their race distances are determined by age group. Individual champions in an age
group are determined by placements they earn in the final races of each distance skated. Two person and four person relays
are also popular events in inline speed skating, with teams of skaters trying to use their combined skills to defeat the other
relay contestants.
In addition to the thrill of
winning races, skaters take special pride in training themselves well enough to turn in record breaking performances when
they reach the national level. For both skaters and spectators, nothing can match the excitement of roller speed athletes
at a record breaking pace as they skate past the finish line.
The Precision Inline Racing team is a member of the United States Amateur Confederation of Roller Skating
(USAC / RS), a recognized by the Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) as a governing body for amateur competitive roller skating in the United States. The
team participates in speed skating competitions on both a local and national level.
